  5. 1/2 c Soft margarine; low fat

  6. 1 c Brown sugar, packed

  7. 2 Egg whites; slightly beaten

  8. 1/4 c Molasses

  9. 2 1/3 c All-purpose flour; or -unbleached

  10. 2 ts Baking soda

  11. 1/2 ts Ground cloves

  12. 3/4 ts Ground cinnamon

  13. 1 ts Ground ginger

  14. 1/8 ts Ground allspice

  15. 1 tb Granulated sugar

  17. Remove 1/2 teaspoon margarine; set aside. Combine the remaining

  18. margarine and brown sugar in a large bowl; cream until smooth. Add the egg

  19. whites and molasses. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda,

  20. cloves, cinnamon, ginger and allspice; gradually add to the margarine

  21. mixture, mixing well. Cover and chill the dough for at least 1 hour.

  22. Preheat oven to 350 degrees; coat cookie sheets with vegetable cooking

  23. spray. Roll a teaspoon of dough into a ball; place on the cookie sheets.

  24. Grease the bottom of a flat-bottomed glass with the reserved margarine; dip

  25. in the granulated sugar and slightly flatten the ball of dough with the
