  8. 1/4 ts Ground black pepper

  9. 2 lb String beans, trimmed and Halved 1>. Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook,

  10. 8 minutes or until softened. Add tomatoes, thyme, sugar, salt and pepper, breaking tomatoes with back of spoon. Stir in the string beans. Simmer, covered, stirring occasionally,

  11. 25 to 35 minutes or until beans are tender.
