  1. (1 1/2 pound recipe)

  3. 3/4 C water (70 to 80 F)

  4. 1 large egg

  5. 3/4 teaspoon salt

  6. 3 C all-purpose flour

  7. 4 tsp sugar

  8. 2 tsp Fleischmann's Bread Machine Yeast

  9. 1 large egg - lightly beaten

  10. 1 tbsp water

  11. Coarse salt or sesame seed

  12. Add water, egg, 1/2 tsp salt, all-purpose flour, sugar, and yeast to bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer. Select dough/manual cycle.

  13. 1 tbsp flour to make dough easy to handle. Roll in a

  14. 14x6" rectangle.

  15. 14x1/2" strips. Gently pull each strip into a rope about 16 inches long. To shape into pretzels: Curve ends of each rope to make a circle; cross ends at top. Twist ends once and lay over bottom of circle. Place on greased baking sheets.

  16. 1 tbsp water; brush on pretzels. Sprinkle with coarse salt or sesame seed. Bake at

  17. 350 F for 18 to 20 minutes or until done. (For even browning when using two sheets, switch positions of sheets halfway through baking.) Remove from sheets; cool on wire rack.
