  1. 2 Sticks butter, softened

  2. 1 Egg yolk

  5. 6 tb Chopped walnuts

  7. 2 ts Cinnamon

  8. 3/4 c Sugar

  9. 1/2 ts Salt

  10. 3 c Flour

  11. 6 oz Cream cheese, room temp.

  12. 1 tb Water

  1. Combine the butter & cream cheese & beat until well mixed.

  2. Add the flour & salt & mix until completely blended.

  3. The dough will be easier to handle if you wrap & chill it for about an hour.

  4. Stir together 1/2 C.

  5. sugar & the cinnamon.

  6. Add the raisins & walnuts & toss to coat all the pieces.

  7. Preheat oven to 375 degrees & get out some cookie sheets.

  8. Divide the dough into 6 equal parts.

  9. Keep chilled any dough you are not working on.

  10. Roll 1 of the pieces into an 8" circle.

  11. Spread with 2 Tbsp.

  12. jam & sprinkle with 2 Tbsp.

  13. of the sugar-raisin-nut mixture.

  14. Cut into 8 pie- shaped wedges.

  15. Beginning at the wide end, roll toward the point, & form a crescent shape.

  16. Roll out & form the remaining dough in the same way.

  17. Place the cookies, point side down, about 1" apart on the ungreased cookie sheets.

  18. Mix together the egg yolk & water & brush over the top of each cookie.

  19. Sprinkle each cookie with a little of the remaining 1/4 C.

  20. sugar.

  21. Bake for about 15 minutes or until lightly golden.

  22. Remove from oven & transfer to racks to cool.
