  1. INGREDIENTS AND SIRECTIONS:

  2. 1 pkg. (12 oz.) jumbo pasta shells

  3. 1 lb. ground beef

  4. 1 egg, beaten

  5. 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese

  6. 1/4 c. seasoned bread crumbs

  7. 1 tbsp. chopped parsley

  8. Salt & pepper to taste

  9. 1 recipe tomato sauce (recipe follows)

  10. 1. Cook pasta shells until just soft.

  11. 2. Brown ground beef, drain excess fat.

  12. 3. Mix beef with next 6 ingredients.

  13. 4. Pour half the tomato sauce in a large baking dish.

  14. 5. Stuff shells with filling, arrange in dish and top with remaining sauce.

  15. 6. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

  16. TOMATO SAUCE:

  17. 1 lg. onion, chopped

  18. 1 clove garlic, minced

  19. 1/4 c. olive oil

  20. 1 can (35 oz.) plum tomatoes, chopped

  21. 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste

  22. 2 tsp. leaf basil, crumbled

  23. 1 tsp. salt

  24. Sugar to taste

  25. 1 c. water

  26. 1. Saute onion and garlic in oil until soft in a large saucepan.

  27. 2. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, salt, sugar to taste and water.

  28. 3. Heat to bubbling; lower heat to simmer for 45 minutes, stirring frequently.
