  1. Whole wheat flour 3 cups

  2. Ghee (or oil) 1 tbsp.

  3. Water 1 cup

  4. Salt 1 tsp.

  1. Place flour in a large bowl add salt and rub in the ghee or oil. Add water and mix into a firm dough, cover and rest for 1 hour.

  2. Break off the dough into small balls, the size of a walnut and roll on a lightly floured board into a thin circle.

  3. Heat a griddle on the stove top and place one chapati, cook on one side, turn over and cook on the other side, smear a little ghee. Repeat with remaining chapattis.
