  1. Butter Cookies

  2. 3/4 c. sugar

  3. 1 cup butter (use the real thing)

  4. 3 oz. cream cheese

  5. 1 egg

  6. 1 tsp. vanilla

  7. 3 cups all purpose flour

  8. Combine all ingredients except flour. Beat at medium speed, scraping

  9. bowl often, until light and fluffy. Add flour, beat until mixed.

  10. Divide dough into thirds. Wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate

  11. until firm, at least 2 hours.

  12. Heat oven to 375. Allow dough to soften a little so that is easier

  13. to roll. Roll dough on floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.

  14. 7 to 10 minutes until

  15. edges are very lightly browned. Remove immediately to rack to

  16. cool.
