  2. 1 pound Italian sausage, mild -cut into 1-inch slices

  3. 1 large Onion -chopped

  4. 2 Apples -- peeled and quartered

  5. 27 ounces Sauerkraut -- undrained

  6. 1 cup water

  7. 1/2 cup Brown sugar -- packed

  8. 2 Teaspoon Caraway seed

  1. In a skillet, cook sausage and onion until sausage is brown and onion istender; drain. Stir in apples, sauerkraut, water, brown sugar and carawayseed. Transfer to a 2-1/2 quart baking dish.

  2. Cover and bake at 350F for 1 hour. Garnish with snipped parsley ifdesired.
