  1. Ultimate Brownie Recipe:

  2. 8 tablespoons unsalted butter

  3. 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate cut into chunks

  4. 1 cup sugar

  5. 2 large eggs

  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  7. cup all-purpose flour

  8. 8 peanut butter cups

  9. Peanut Butter Top:

  10. 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

  11. cup peanut butter

  12. 1/4 cup sugar

  13. 1/4 cup flour

  14. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  15. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  16. 1 egg

  17. 1 cup mini chocolate chips

  1. Move the oven rack to the middle and preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a 13 x 9 inch pan with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.

  2. Melt the unsweetened chocolate and butter in a bowl in the microwave, stirring often, for 1 to 3 minutes. Whisk together the 2 eggs, vanilla, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Whisk the chocolate/butter mixture (slightly cooled) into the sugar/egg mixture until nice and smooth. Next, stir in the flour until no streaks remain. Pour the brownie mixture into the pan and spread out evenly.

  3. Take the peanut butter cups and place them in a plastic storage bag. Crush them by hitting them with a rolling pin or back of a frying pan. Sprinkle the crushed peanut butter cups over the brownie batter.

  4. In a mixer, add the softened cream cheese, peanut butter, and sugar and mix until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and mix until combined. Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt until well combined. Spread the peanut butter mixture over the brownie and peanut butter cups in the pan. Next, sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top of the peanut butter batter.

  5. Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with only a few crumbs.
