  1. Directions for Making Mai Tai Cocktail The first step for making mai tai drink is to frost serving glasses. Then crush ice in an ice crusher. If you don't have ice crusher, simply fill ice cubes in a plastic bag and smash them by using a rolling pin. You can either add crushed ice in the cocktail shaker, or fill it directly in two serving glasses (up to half). Another preparatory step for how to make a mai tai drink is squeeze lime to extract enough juice. Considering that you have added ice in the cocktail shaker, add the remaining liquid ingredients - dark rum, light rum, triple sec, orgeat, Curacao, pineapple juice and freshly squeeze lime juice. For added lime flavor, add a piece of spent lime shell in the shaker. Shake the concoction for 10 - 15 seconds (preferably 4 times), or until the mai tai ingredients are blended well. With this, your mai tai recipe is done. Strain into two serving glasses. If required, you can add more crushed ice while serving. In case, you are using club soda and grenadine, top drink with the same. Now, you are ready to serve mai tai cocktail. Make a slit in lime wedge and use it for garnishing. And what about decorating with a tropical umbrella stirrer and cherries? Or, you can simply use a swizzle stick for adding a professional touch to it.
