    1. 4 oz Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet

    2. -Chocolate 1/2 c Water

    3. 1 c Butter

    4. 2 c Sugar

    5. 4 lg Eggs, separated

    6. 1 ts Vanilla

    7. 2 c Unsifted flour

    8. 1 ts Baking soda

    9. 1 c Buttermilk or strong cold

    10. -coffee 1/2 ts Salt

    11. 8 or 9" round cake pans lined with wax paper. Bake at 350-F about 30 minutes. Cool on rack
