  1. Pie Crust (makes a double crust)

  2. 2/3 cups flour

  3. 2 tsp salt

  4. 2/3 cups oil

  5. 6 Tbsp milk Filling

  6. 3/4 cup sugar

  7. 1/4 cup all purpose flour

  8. 1/2 tsp nutmeg

  9. 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  10. dash salt

  11. 6 cups thinly sliced, pared tart apple s (about 6 medium)

  12. 2 tsp margarine or butter Topping

  13. 1/4 cup brown sugar

  14. 2 Tbsp flour

  15. 3 Tbsp karo syrup

  16. 2 Tbsp softened margarine

  1. Crust Preheat oven to 425°F. Sift flour and salt together, pour oil and milk into measuring cup, but don’t mix. Pour this mixture into flour and stir with a fork just enough to moisten flour. Roll between 2 sheets of waxed paper.

  2. Filling Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Stir in apples. Turn into pastry-lined pie plate and dot with margarine. Cover with top crust. Cut slits to vent. Seal and flute. Bake in oven 45 minutes or until crust is brown.

  3. Topping Mix topping ingredients together and spread over top of pie. Bake in oven 10 minutes longer or until top is bubbly.
