  1. 1 cup all-purpose flour

  2. 1 cup rolled oats

  3. 1 cup sugar

  4. 3/4 cup unsweetened finely shredded dried coconut

  5. 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter

  6. 3 tablespoons Lyle's Golden Syrup (see below for substitutions)

  7. 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  8. 2 tablespoons boiling water
