  1. 4 Tbls. Butter

  2. 3 large Onion s

  3. 2 Tbls. Flour

  4. 1 cup Beef Broth

  5. 2 cups Dark Beer

  6. 1 Tbl. Sugar

  7. 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg

  8. Salt and Pepper

  9. 4 slices toasted French Bread

  10. 3/4 cup grated Swiss Cheese

  1. Fry onion in butter until soft. Stir in the flour. In a small dutch over, bring to a boil the broth and beer with seasonings. Add onions and simmer for 25 minutes. Add rounds of crisp French Bread and sprinkle with cheese. Place under the broiler to allow the cheese to melt.
