  1. German sweet chocolate - 4

  2. 1/4 cup 49g / 1.7oz Butter

  3. 12 oz 340g Evaporated milk

  4. 1 1/2 cups 297g / 10oz Sugar

  5. 3 tablespoons 45ml Cornstarch

  6. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Salt

  7. 2 Eggs

  8. 1 teaspoon 5ml Vanilla extract

  9. 1 Unbaked deep dish pie shell

  10. 1 1/2 cups 139g / 4.9oz Coconut

  11. 1 cup 146g / 5.1oz Pecans - chopped

  1. In a saucepan, combine chocolate and butter. Melt over low heat.

  2. Remove from the heat and blend in milk; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.

  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Blend in melted chocolate; pour into pie shell.

  4. Combine coconut and pecans; sprinkle on top of pie.

  5. Bake at 375F for 45 minute. I have left out the coconut on occasion when some of my kids didn't like it. Believe me, this disappears fast.
