  1. 1 cup almonds, blanched

  2. 3/4 cup raisins

  3. 3/4 cup dried apricots

  4. 3/4 cup dates, chopped

  5. 3/4 walnuts

  6. 1/4 cup orange juice

  7. 1/2 cup granulated or sifted onfectioners' sugar candy paper liner

  1. Pulse 1 cup of blanched almonds and 3/4 cup each of raisins, dried apricots, chopped dates, and walnuts in a blender or food processor until you have a coarse meal.

  2. Add 1/4 cup of orange juice and pulse until the mixture sticks together.

  3. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll the balls in sugar, if you like.

  4. Set the sugarplums in candy paper liners and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Makes 24 to 30.
