  2. 1 1/2 pounds fresh purple prune plums -- (12 to 14 plums)

  4. 1/2 cup sugar

  6. 1/2 cup butter

  7. 2 teaspoons lemon peel -- grated

  8. 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  9. 2 eggs

  11. 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

  12. 1/3 cup sugar

  13. 1/2 cup slivered almonds

  14. 1/4 cup butter **

  1. Wash, pit and slice plums; set aside.

  2. Sift together flour, sugar and salt; cut in butter.

  3. Add lemon peel, lemon juice and eggs; stir until pastry is thoroughly mixed.

  4. Pat into greased 10 x 15-inch baking pan. Arrange sliced plums over pastry; sprinkle topping over plums.

  5. Bake in preheated 375 F. oven 25 minutes. Cut in squares and serve with whipped cream.
