  1. 1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch slices

  2. 6 large eggs

  3. 3/4 cup milk

  4. 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

  5. 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  6. 1 (10-ounce) bag frozen strawberries

  7. 4 medium ripe bananas, 1/2-inch slices

  8. 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  9. 1 tablespoon apple pie spice

  1. Combine eggs, milk, baking powder and vanilla. Pour over bread slices, cover and refrigerate overnight. Next morning: Combine strawberries and bananas and place in glass casserole dish. Sprinkle sugar and apple pie spice over strawberries and bananas. Place slices of egg-soaked bread on top of strawberries and bananas. Sprinkle top with sugar. Bake 450°F (230°C) for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or powdered sugar.
