  1. 4 sticks butter

  2. 2 cups sugar

  3. 4 cups flour

  4. 2 tsp. pure vanilla pinch of salt

  1. In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Whip butter, sugar and vanilla, until light and fluffy, 7 to 10 minutes. Add flour, and salt gradually, until just combined. Chill dough in the refigerater for a half a hour. Roll dough out on floured surface until 1/2 inch thick, cut with your favorite cookie cutter. Place cookies on parchment lined baking sheet and bake at 350 degree's for 6 to 8 minutes. Cookies will appear not set, but will firm as they cool.
