  1. 3 pounds beef ribs* -- (3 to 4)

  2. 3-inch lengths

  3. 1 onion -- chopped

  4. 1 tablespoon butter

  5. 2/3 cup catsup

  6. 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  7. 2 tablespoons cider vinegar

  8. 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  1. Preparation : Place short ribs on a broiler pan. Broil until well-browned to remove excess fat. Transfer to crockery pot . Saute onion in butteruntil limp and golden. Pour in catsup; soy sauce, vinegar and brown sugar. Heat until blended. Pour over ribs. Cover. Cook on LOW 8 hours.
