  1. 1 box German chocolate or Devils food cake mix (cake mix WITHOUT pudding)

  2. cup evaporated milk (divided)

  3. 1 cup coarsely chopped walnut s

  4. 3/4 cup margarine melted (1 1/2 sticks)

  5. 1 (14 oz) package of caramel s (approx 43 when buying in bulk)

  6. 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  1. Use a 9X13X2 inch pan. Grease and flour pan. Preheat oven to 350. Combine the cake mix, ⅓ cup of milk, margarine, and walnuts.

  2. Press half of this mixture evenly in bottom of pan.

  3. Bake for 10 min.

  4. Melt caramels with the other ⅓ cup of milk and set aside. Melt over a low heat and stir constantly (a double boiler works better)

  5. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the baked cake mix.

  6. Pour the melted caramels over this, covering evenly.

  7. Drop the remaining cake mixture by teaspoons over all and return to oven for 20 min. more.

  8. DO NOT OVER BAKE stay with baking times These brownies taste better and cut better when completely cooled.
