  5. 1 c Sugar

  6. 1 Egg

  7. 1 c All purpose flour

  8. 1 ts Salt

  9. 1 ts Ground cinnamon

  10. 2 tb Hot water

  11. 1 ts Vanilla extract

  12. 3 c Apples; peeled and diced

  13. 1/2 c Pecans; chopped

  14. -rum butter sauce

  15. 1/2 c Brown sugar; firmly packed

  16. 1/2 c Sugar

  17. 1/4 c Butter or margarine; softend

  18. 1/2 c Whipping cream

  19. 2 tb Rum

  20. -whipped cream-

  21. 1 pt Whipping cream

  22. 1/3 c Brown sugar

  23. 1 ts Vanilla

  24. Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of an

  25. electric mixer. Add egg; beat until blended. Combine flour, salt, and cinnamon; mix well. Add to creamed mixture; beat on low speed of an

  26. electric mixer until smooth. Stir in water and vanilla. Fold in apples and 9 inch pieplate. Bake at

  27. 45 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve

  28. warm or cold with Rum Butter Sauce and whipped cream.

  29. Sauce: Combine first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan; mix well. Bring to

  30. a boil, and cook 1 minute. Stir in rum.

  31. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream. --
