  1. 2 1/4 cups 140g / 4.9oz Flour

  2. 2/3 cup 131g / 4.6oz White sugar

  3. 3 teaspoons 15ml Baking powder

  4. 1 teaspoon 5ml Salt

  5. 1 cup 328g / 11oz Maple syrup

  6. 1/2 cup 99g / 3 1/2oz Soft shortening

  7. 1/2 cup 118ml Milk

  8. 2 Eggs

  9. 1 cup 146g / 5.1oz Chopped nuts

  1. Sift dry ingredients together into bowl.

  2. Add syrup, shortening and milk; beat 2 minutes.

  3. Add eggs and beat 2 minutes.

  4. Add chopped nuts and mix well. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9" pans.

  5. Bake in 350F oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Frost.
