  1. 1/2 cup soy sauce

  2. 1/4 cup sherry

  3. 2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil

  4. 2 cloves garlic, minced

  5. 1 teaspoon ground ginger

  6. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  7. 1 cut-up broiler-fryer chicken

  8. 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

  1. In jar with lid, place soy sauce, sherry, oil, garlic, ginger and nutmeg; shake well and pour over chicken in bowl. Cover chicken and marinate in refrigerator 4 hours or more.

  2. Place chicken on prepared grill, skin side up, about 8-inches from heat; sprinkle with pepper. Grill chicken, turning and basting with sauce every 10 minutes, for about 30 minutes or until fork can be inserted with ease.
