  1. 3 tablespoons 45ml Vegetable oil

  2. 1 tablespoon 15ml Onion - finely chopped (large)

  3. 2 Garlic cloves - minced

  4. 1 cup 237ml Ketchup

  5. 1 cup 237ml American-style chili sauce

  6. 1/2 cup 80g / 2.8oz Light brown sugar - (packed)

  7. 1/2 cup 118ml Cider vinegar

  8. 2 tablespoons 30ml Steak sauce, such as A-

  9. 2 tablespoons 30ml Spicy brown mustard

  10. 2 tablespoons 30ml Worcestershire sauce

  1. In a heavy-bottomed medium saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and the garlic and cook, stirring often, until the onion is golden, about 8 minutes.

  2. Stir in the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Simmer, stirring often, until slightly thickened, about 40 minutes. Cool completely. (To store, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week.)

  3. Brush onto food during the last 10 minutes of grilling.

  4. This recipe yields about 2 cups.
