  2. DEVIL'S FOOD DROP COOKIES**

  7. 1 c Brown sugar

  8. 1/2 c Butter, softened

  9. 1 t Vanilla

  10. 2 oz (2 squares) unsweetened

  11. -chocolate,

  12. Melted and cooled

  13. 1 Egg

  14. 2 c Flour

  15. 1/2 ts Baking soda

  16. 1/2 ts Salt

  17. 3/4 c Sour cream

  18. 1/2 c Chopped walnuts

  19. MOCHA FROSTING:

  20. 1 1/2 c Powdered sugar

  21. 2 tb Unsweetened cocoa

  22. 1/4 c Butter, softened

  23. 1 To 2 tsp. instant coffee

  24. -granules

  25. 1 1/2 ts Vanilla

  26. 2 To 3 Tbsp. milk

  27. COOKIES:

  28. Cookies:

  29. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets. In large bowl, beat brown

  30. 1/2 cup butter until light and fluffy. Add

  31. 1 tsp. vanilla,

  32. chocolate and egg; blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup;

  33. level off. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add dry

  34. ingredients and sour cream to chocolate mixture; mix well. Stir in walnuts.

  35. 2 apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake at

  36. 10 to 14 minutes or until set. Cool

  37. 1 minute; remove from cookie

  38. sheets. Cool completely.

  39. Frosting:

  40. In a small bowl, combine all frosting ingredients, adding enough milk for desired spreading consistency; blend until smooth. Spread on cooled

  41. cookies. Allow frosting to set before storing.

  42. Makes: 3 dozen
