  2. 2 c. gran. sugar

  3. 2 egg yolks reserve whites

  4. 1 tsp. lemon extract

  5. 1 tsp. lemon zest

  6. 1 tsp. salt

  7. 1 c. buttermilk

  8. 1 tsp. baking soda

  9. 4 c. flour

  1. Cream butter and sugar well. Add egg yolks, lemon extract, lemon zest and salt; beat well. Combine buttermilk and baking soda. Dissolve soda in milk. Alternate 4 c. flour and the milk mixture to the first mixture. Beat 2 egg whites until stiff. Fold in last. Bake @375° oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Yield: serves 0
