  1. 1 pound lean or extra lean ground turkey (both sides seasoned with salt and pepper before placing in skillet)

  2. 1/2 cup chopped onion

  3. 1 clove garlic, diced

  4. 1 6-ounce can tomato paste

  5. 1/2 cup dijon mustard

  6. 1/2 cup grape jelly or preserves

  7. 1 Tablespoon lemon juice

  8. 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  9. 1 Tablespoon brown sugar

  10. 1 teaspoon chili powder

  11. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon dash bottled hot pepper sauce

  12. 6 whole wheat hamburger buns, split and toasted

  1. In a large skillet cook meat, onions, and garlic clove until meat is brown and onions are tender. In the mean time, whisk together tomato paste, dijon mustard, and grape jelly until combined. Once the meat has browned, reduce heat to medium and stir in the tomato paste mixture, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, cinnamon and hot sauce. Once all ingredients have been added and sauce has been seasoned to taste, bring to a boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for 5 minutes. Serve on toasted buns. **Note for Diabetics/those watching Sugar Intake** Recipe works perfectly with sugar-free and low sugar substitutes! (ie, Sugar Free Grape Jelly, Splenda brown sugar blend, no added sugar tomato paste, etc).
