  1. 3 medium carrots, cut into 3/4-inch pieces

  2. 2 celery ribs with leaves, cut into 3/4-inch pieces

  3. 2 medium onions, sliced

  4. 1 broiler/fryer chicken (3 to 4 pounds), cut up

  5. 1/2 cup chicken broth

  6. 1-1/2 teaspoons salt

  7. 1 teaspoon dried basil

  8. 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  1. In a 5-qt. slow cooker, place carrots, celery and onions. Top with chicken. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours or until chicken juices run clear and vegetables are tender. Serve with a slotted spoon. Yield: 6 servings.
