  1. Vietnamese Ginger Chicken (GA KHO)

  2. 1 1/2 tablespoons oil

  3. 2-inch piece fresh ginger, julienned

  4. 2 cloves garlic, minced

  5. 1 1/2 pounds boneless chicken, sliced

  6. 2 tablespoons sugar

  7. 1 teaspoon thick soy sauce

  8. 1 tablespoon fish sauce

  9. 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  10. 1 onion, cubed

  11. salt, to taste

  12. Heat oil and fry ginger, garlic and shallot until brown. Add chicken

  13. 1 minute, then add all ingredients. Cook for minutes, stirring often until sauce thickens.
