  1. 2 Red kidney beans - - drained

  2. 1 1/2 tablespoons 22ml Butter or margarine

  3. 1 teaspoon 5ml Liquid smoke

  4. 2 teaspoons 10ml Dry mustard

  5. 1 Garlic - minced

  6. 1 teaspoon 5ml Salt

  7. 1 Brandy

  8. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Pepper

  9. 1 Thyme

  10. 2 tablespoons 30ml Cider vinegar

  11. 1 Rosemary

  12. 1/2 cup 118ml Pickle juice

  13. 1/4 cup 59ml Strong coffee

  1. Mix above ingredients except the brandy and coffee. Pour over beans in a large casserole or bean pot. Stir; bake one hour in a 250F.

  2. oven. Slice an onion on top of the beans and bake 20 minutes longer at 400 F. Pour coffee over all and bake at 400 F. for another 15 minutes. Add the brandy, pouring it over all. Turn off oven and let dish stand in oven for 15 minutes, until brandy has heated and blended. Serve.
