  1. 1/2 cup 31g / 1.1oz Chopped onions

  2. 1 tablespoon 15ml Minced garlic

  3. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Whole oregano leaves

  4. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Ground cinnamon

  5. 2 tablespoons 30ml Olive oil

  6. 2 1/2 cups 592ml Fresh or canned chopped tomatoes - with juice

  7. 1/3 cup 78ml Dry white wine

  8. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Minced chipotle chile in adobo

  9. 2 tablespoons 30ml Chopped fresh cilantro

  1. Recipe Instructions Saute the onions, garlic, oregano and cinnamon in the olive oil over moderate heat until soft. Add the tomatoes, wine and chipotle and cook uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes until thickened. Stir in the cilantro. This recipe yields about 3 cups of sauce.
