  1. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Broccoli crowns

  2. 2 tablespoons 30ml Oil

  3. 1/2 lb 227g / 8oz Shelled medium shrimp - deveined, butterflie

  4. 1/4 cup 59ml Oyster sauce

  5. 2 Garlic cloves - minced

  6. 2 tablespoons 30ml Minced ginger root - (to 3 tbspns)

  7. Freshly-ground white pepper - to taste

  8. Toasted sesame seeds - for garnish

  1. Cut broccoli into florets. Blanch florets in boiling water 30 seconds; drain well and set aside.

  2. Heat medium-sized skillet over high heat and add oil. Add shrimp and stir-fry until they start to turn pink, 15 seconds. Add broccoli and keep stirring. Add oyster sauce, garlic, ginger and pepper to taste. Stir to incorporate. Stir-fry, adjusting heat if necessary to avoid burning, until shrimp are cooked through, 5 to 7 minutes.

  3. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds. Serve it over rice or by itself.
