    2. 1 cup margarine or butter

    3. 1 egg white

    4. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    5. 2 1/2 cups flour

    6. 1 1/2 cup sugar

    7. 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

    8. 1 teaspoon red food coloring

    9. 1 teaspoon blue food coloring

    1. Whip the egg white and stir the margarine and vanilla into it.

    2. Using a different bowl, blend together the dry ingredients.

    3. Combine the wet and dry mixtures until blended.

    4. Make the dough into equal sizes in a separate bowls.

    5. Add the red coloring to one bowl and the blue to another. You may need to knead the dough to get the color distributed evenly.

    6. Form into equally shaped rectangles and stack the colors.

    7. Cover with wax paper and chill for an hour.

    8. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    9. Cut the cookies into bars and bake for 10 minutes.
