  1. 1/2 cup 118ml Yellow split peas

  2. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Chile powder

  3. 1 Turmeric

  4. 10 oz 284g Spinach - or 4 cups 948ml Vegetarian etc. Masala

  5. 2 teaspoons 10ml Urad dal

  6. 1/3 teaspoon 1.7ml Black pepper

  7. 2 Red chiles

  8. 1 teaspoon 5ml Cumin seeds

  9. 3 tablespoons 45ml Coconut - (grated)

  1. Recipe Instructions * combination of cabbage, squash, beans, etc. Boil yellow split peas. Keep aside. Boil vegetables with salt, chile powder and turmeric until just cooked. Add masala and dal. Masala: Roast urad dal, black pepper and red chiles until the dal is golden yellow. Add cumin seeds to the mixture after removing from stove. Add the coconut when the mixture is cold. Grind with water.
