  1. 1 pound 85% or 95% lean ground beef

  2. 1 egg

  3. 1/2 cup dry unseasoned bread crumbs

  4. 1/4 cup reduced sodium beef broth

  5. 1 teaspoon minced garlic

  6. 2 teaspoons reduced sodium soy sauce

  7. 4 dashes red pepper sauce

  8. 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves

  9. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  10. 1/2 teaspoon pepper sweet and sour sauce finely chopped parsley **SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE**

  11. 1 cup reduced sodium beef broth

  12. 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  13. 3 1/2 teaspoons equal -- for recipes or --

  14. 12 packets equal -- sweetener or --

  15. 1/2 cup equal -- spoonful

  16. 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  17. 1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce

  18. 1 tablespoon dijon style mustard

  19. 2 teaspoons tomato paste

  20. 2 dashes red pepper sauce -- up to

  21. 3 1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind salt and pepper -- to taste

  1. Preparation : Mix all ingredients except sweet and sour sauce and parsley; shape into 20 meatballs and place in baking pan. Bake meatballs in preheated 350 degree oven until browned and no longer pink in the center, about 20 minutes. Arrange meatballs in serving dish; pour hot sweet and sour sauce over and sprinkle with parsley. Serve over noodles or rice. SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE: Mix beef broth, cornstarch, and equal in small saucepan; stir in remaining ingredients, except salt and pepper and heat to boiling. Boil, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 1 minute. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
