  1. 2 cups 320g / 11oz Rice - cooked

  2. 3/4 lb 340g / 11oz Ground beef

  3. 1 Onion - chopped

  4. 2 cups 474ml Tomato sauce

  5. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Garlic salt

  6. 1 teaspoon 5ml Sugar

  7. 1 teaspoon 5ml Salt

  8. 1 Pepper

  9. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Oregano

  10. 1 teaspoon 5ml Parsley flakes

  11. 1 1/2 cups 219g / 7.7oz Cottage cheese

  12. 1/2 cup 73g / 2.6oz Shredded cheese

  1. Cook rice and set aside. Brown ground beef and onion in large skillet. Add tomato sauce, garlic salt, sugar, salt, pepper, oregano and parsley. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.

  2. Combine cottage cheese and cooked rice. Put 1/3 of the rice mixture in a buttered 2 qt. casserole. Top with 1/3 of the meat-tomato sauce. Continue to alternate layers, ending with tomato sauce. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.

  3. Bake at 325F for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
