  1. 2 (400g) tins chickpeas, drained and rinsed

  2. 1 tablespoon tahini (sesame paste)

  3. 3 cloves garlic, chopped

  4. 25g chopped parsley

  5. 1 egg

  6. 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  7. salt and pepper

  8. 1 squeeze lemon juice

  9. oil to fry

  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until smooth.

  2. Shape into burgers or tablespoon-sized balls. Shallow-fry in hot oil until golden on both sides.

  3. Drain on kitchen towels an serve.
