  2. 2 cups flour

  3. 4 teaspoons baking powder

  4. 1 cup mashed potatoes

  5. 1 teaspoon salt

  6. 3 tablespoons shortening

  7. Cold milk, enough to mix (about 1 cup)

  1. Instructions Mix together flour, baking powder and salt.

  2. Rub in the shortening and at the same time the mashed potatoes.

  3. Add just enough milk to make the mass cling together.

  4. Do not knead.

  5. Roll out on floured pastry board to a thickness of 1/2 inch.

  6. Cut with biscuit cutter.

  7. Place in lightly floured and greased biscuit tins.

  8. Bake slowly in moderate oven for about 20 minutes.
