  4. 1 sl Fresh ginger (quarter-sized) - bruised

  5. 1/4ts Salt

  6. 3 dr Tabasco sauce

  1. + Directions : Every Chinese cook has his own version of this. This one is intended for quick cooking in an American kitchen. IN A SAUCEPAN, combine the vinegar, sugar, ketchup, ginger, salt and Tabasco sauce; bring to a boil. Continue cooking over high heat and reduce to the consistency of a light syrup that lightly coats a spoon. Makes 1 1/2 Cups
