  1. Brownies:

  2. 168 g unsweetened chocolate, chopped

  3. 3/4 cup butter

  4. 4 large eggs

  5. 2 cups sugar

  6. 1/8 tsp. salt

  7. 1 cup all purpose flour

  8. Topping:

  9. 224 g cream cheese, room temperature

  10. 1 tbsp. heavy whipping cream

  11. 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

  12. 6 tbsp. powdered sugar, sifted

  13. 1 1/2 cups chopped Heath toffee candy bars

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour the inside of a 13x9 inch baking dish. Combine the chocolate and butter in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Stir frequently until melted and smooth. Cool the chocolate mixture slightly. Combine the eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt and melted chocolate in a large bowl and whisk until well blended. Add the flour and whisk until just combined. Spread the batter in the prepared dish. Bake about 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Transfer the dish to a rack and cool the brownies completely.

  2. For the Topping:

  3. Combine the cream cheese, cream and vanilla in a medium bowl and blend until smooth. Stir in the powdered sugar. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top of the cooled brownies and sprinkle with the chopped Heath bars. Cover and store the brownies in a cool place.
