Pommes Caramel (Caramel Apples)

    6. 1 c Sugar; Brown pref.

    7. 1 ts Vanilla

    8. 6 Apples

    9. Melt butter in fry pan and add sugar. Stir till sugar

    10. is dissolved or softened and everything is well

    11. blended, then add vanilla. Core unpeeled apples, cut them into quarters and add to hot sugar. Simmer

    12. uncovered over medium heat, basting often with the

    13. syrup for 15-20 minutes. --
