  1. 6 Pears or 1 lb 454g / 16oz Fresh cherries

  2. 1 cup 62g / 2 1/5oz Flour

  3. 1 cup 198g / 7oz Sugar

  4. 1 teaspoon 5ml Baking powder

  5. 5 Eggs

  6. 3 tablespoons 45ml Water - (approximately)

  7. 1 Cinnamon

  8. 1 Salt

  9. 1/4 lb 113g / 4oz Butter - softened

  1. Chop unpeeled pears into bite-sized chunks. (Or pit cherries and cut in half.) Arrange the fruit on the bottom of a greased tart pan.

  2. To make the pastry, mix all ingredients, except softened butter, with a beater. When well-blended, add butter. Pour batter over the fruit. Bake in a 300F. oven for 30 minutes.
