  1. 1 1/2 c red beans -- soaked overnight

  2. 1 tbsp sauteeing liquid

  3. 2 cloves garlic -- chopped

  4. 1 red pepper -- sliced

  5. 1 c red wine

  6. 1 tbsp tomato paste

  7. 1 bay leaf salt and pepper -- to taste

  1. Cook beans in unsalted water until just tender. Drain. Preheat oven to 350?F. Saute onion, garlic and pepper until soft. Add beans, wine, tomato paste, and bay leaf; season with salt and pepper. Transfer to casserole and bake 45 minutes.
