  1. 4 T butter

  2. 1 c diced onion s

  3. 1 28 oz. can whole stewed tomato es

  4. 1 t sugar Salt and pepper to taste

  5. 1 c fresh breadcrumb s

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. Sauté the onions in 1 T butter.

  3. Drain the tomatoes and arrange them in the bottom of an 8x8" greased casserole dish.

  4. Sprinkle with sugar, onions, salt, and pepper.

  5. Melt remaining 3 T butter, toss with breadcrumbs, and sprinkle on top.

  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.
