  1. 1/2 medium onion, peeled and finely chopped

  2. 1 clove garlic, mashed

  3. 1/2 teaspoons extra-light olive oil, with a dash of sesame oil

  4. 1 teaspoon curry powder

  5. 4 tablespoons dark raisins

  6. 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley leaves

  7. 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

  8. 1 cup cooked long grain brown rice or white rice

  9. 1/2 teaspoon olive oil

  10. 8 ounces ground beef ñ the leanest one you can find

  11. 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground salt

  12. 4 whole wheat buns

  13. 1 tomato, sliced A mix of greens ñ spinach, sorrel, butter lettuce Salad Dressing

  14. 1 clove garlic

  15. 2 tablespoons olive oil

  16. 1/2 cup white wine vinegar

  17. 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  18. 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder

  19. 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  1. Heat the 1/2 teaspoon of oil in a skillet. SautÈ the onion for 1 minute and add the garlic. Continue to sautÈ for another minute. Add the curry powder, raisins, parsley leaves and lemon juice. Heat thoroughly.

  2. Put the mixture into a food processor. Deglaze the pan with a few tablespoons water and add liquid to the food processor. Add the rice and puree the mixture until well blended.

  3. Add the mixture to 8 ounces of ground beef and mix thoroughly.

  4. On a plate mix 1 teaspoon olive oil with the salt. Make3- 4 patties with the meat mixture and dip the patty into the oil salt mixture.

  5. Heat a skillet with 1/2 teaspoon olive oil. Cook the burgers on medium heat for 4 about 4 minutes on each side.

  6. While the burgers are cooking, place the salad dressing ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth. Place the greens and tomatoes in a salad spinner. Pour the dressing over the salad and spin the salad dressing out. Reserve the salad dressing for another time.

  7. Place a burger on a whole wheat bun and serve with the dressed lettuce and tomato.
