  1. 1 c Uncooked regular long

  2. Grain rice

  3. 2 c Water

  4. 1/4 ts Salt, if desired

  5. 2 tb Finely chopped onions

  6. 2 tb Margarine or butter

  1. Heat rice, water and salt to boiling in 1-1/2-quart saucepan, stirring once or twice; reduce heat.

  2. Cover and simmer about 14 minutes (do not lift cover or stir); remove from heat.

  3. Fluff rice lightly with fork.

  4. Cover and let steam 5 to 10 minutes.

  5. Cook onion in butter over medium heat about 2 minutes.

  6. Stir into cooked rice.

  7. SERVINGS (1/2 CUP EACH); 155 CALORIES PER SERVING.
