  1. 1 tablespoon olive oil

  2. 1 tablespoon butter

  3. 3 garlic cloves

  4. 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  5. 1/4 cup brandy

  6. 3 1/2 cups chicken broth

  7. 1/4 cup tomato paste

  8. 1 russet potato , peeled & diced

  9. 1/2 pound small shrimp , peeled & deveined

  10. 12 steamed clam s, shells discarded, clams chopped

  11. 1/2 cup heavy cream

  12. 1 tsp. freshly chopped dill leaves

  13. 1 small onion , diced fine,

  14. 1/4 cup

  1. Heat oil & butter together in a large saucepan. Add garlic & onion; sauté 3 minutes, until onions are clear. Add flour & stir to coat. Add brandy & simmer 2 minutes. Add broth, tomato paste & potato & bring to a boil. Boil 6 minutes, until potatoes are fork-tender. Add shrimp & clams. Simmer 1 minute to heat through. Add cream & dill simmering 1 minute more.
