  1. 1 1/2 lb Ground beef

  2. 1 lg onion, chopped (1 cup)

  3. 1 clove garlic, minced

  4. 6 oz can hot-style tomato juice or vegetable cocktail

  5. 1/2 c catsup

  6. 1/2 c water

  7. 2 TB brown sugar

  8. 2 TB chopped canned jalapeno peppers

  9. 1 TB prepared mustard

  10. 2 ts chili powder

  11. 1 ts Worcestershire sauce

  12. 8 hamburger buns

  13. 3 1/2 or 4 quart crockery cooker combine tomato juice, catsup, water, brown sugar, jalapeno peppers, mustard, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce. Stir in meat mixture. Cover; cook on low heat setting for 10-12 hours or high heat setting for 3-5 hours. Toast buns; spoon meat mixture over buns and sprinkle with cheese. Serves

  14. 8. For 5 or 6 quart crockery cooker: Double all ingredients. Prepare as above. Makes

  15. 16 servings. For 1 quart crockery cooker: Omit water. Use

  24. 1 tsp chili powder;

  25. 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce;

  26. 4 or 5 hamburger buns; and shredded cheese. Prepare as above. Cook for 6-10 hours. Makes

  27. 4-5 servings.
