  8. 5 ea dill

  9. 2 c salt

  10. 4 tb pepper

  11. 1 cucumber

  12. Make a solution of the first four ingredients and bring to a boil.

  13. Fill crock with cucumbers, placing dill between layers of cucumbers.

  14. Add the hot solution. Onions or garlic may be added if desired. cover

  15. crock and let stand several days before using. If preferred,

  16. cucumbers may be preserved in jars rather than in crock. --
